A trainer with several hats
Based in Pau, Charles Gourdain is currently training more than seventy thoroughbreds owned by around 50 owners from all over the world: France, Ireland, Great Britain, Scotland, United States, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Oman Sultanate, Lybia, Irak, etc..
He’s known for having succeeded in training thoroughbreds and Arabian blacktype winners on the flat and over the jumps both in France and abroad.
A family affair
Charles Gourdain’s family has been passionate about horses for generations.
His grand father was an Eventing rider. His father, famous amateur jockey over the jumps, was a veterinarian and a race official.
Later on, Charles Gourdain started sharing his love of horseracing with his family. In 1997, he started his own company along with his wife Florence. Solange, Hubert and Antoine, three of their five children, are amateur jockeys.
